Global perspectives on responsible investing 2019

Survey methodology

Aon’s 2019 Global perspectives on responsible investing report is the second survey of investor attitudes towards responsible investing. The purpose of the survey is to understand where investors, including clients of Aon, are on their responsible investing journey and what is driving their interest. As we work with investors to develop responsible investing policies and procedures, understanding their range of views is critical. We are also aware that investors are interested in what others are doing in this area.

To create the report, Aon relied on the following information:

A global online survey of Aon clients and institutional investor contacts, conducted from early May 2019 through to late July 2019.

  • Approximately 12,800 individuals, comprising representatives of Aon’s institutional clients and industry contacts were invited to participate in the survey through electronic mail-outs conducted by Aon.
  • The survey captured the sentiments of 229 investment professionals in Continental Europe, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
